Charging Cable or Connector is Stuck & Won't Release

Modern EVs lock the DC/AC plug securely into the inlet for high-voltage safety. The solenoid pin must be disengaged before releasing.

Resolution Steps:

1. Tap "Stop Charging" on the charger touchscreen or operator mobile app; wait 10 seconds for current flow to drop to zero.

2. Press the UNLOCK button on your car key fob twice (many EVs like BYD, VinFast, and MG unlock the charging port solenoid upon vehicle unlock).

3. Push the connector firmly inwards toward the car, squeeze the top latch lever, and pull straight back.

4. If still stuck, pull the manual emergency release cable (usually an orange/green pull ring inside the trunk/boot or under the hood near the charge port).

Pro Tip:

Never yank aggressively or pry with metallic objects while the charging station is active.
